Jane Wicker and Charlie Schwenker killed in Stearman crash

More sad news: Wingwalker Jane Wicker and pilot Charlie Schwenker were killed in the crash of their Stearman during a demontration at the Dayton airshow yesterday. The biplane appears to have stalled while it was flying inverted with limited speed. The aircraft burst into flames upon impact, killing Wicker and Schwenker instantly.

Stearman Crash in Germany

A PT-13 Stearman (OE-AWW (formerly N75664), c/n 75-5386) crashed during an airsgow at Backnang-Heiningen airport, Germany on Saturday September 10. The pilot was slightly injured. The aircraft’s engine can be heard sputtering and then stopping seconds after take-off on this YouTube video.

Two injured in Stearman crash in Fabens, TX

Two men were injured in the crash of their Stearman shortly after taking off from Fabens Airport on Sunday morning. Their lives are not endangered but both sustained important injuries and have been hospitalized. Engine trouble might be the cause of the crash. Source.
