A DHC-1 Chipmunk crashed on September 17th near Paulinenaue in Germany. The pilot, aged 68, was killed in the crash and his passenger was gravely wounded.

The aircraft, built in 1952 and registered D-ELLY, had taken off from Bienenfarm airfield moments before. The causes of the accident are unknown at this time.

Our thoughts and prayers go to the family and friends of the victims, and we wish a speedy recovery to the survivor of the accident.

Continue reading]]> The de Havilland Canada DHC-1 Chipmunk WZ877 (F-AZLI) flew for the first time in La Rochelle, France, on June 23.

The aircraft had been sold from RAF stock in 1996 but had never flown again. Bought in 2010 by MM. Gilles Carter and Patrick Pierre-Pierre, pilot for the first flight, it was restored to airworthy status.
