Fantasy of Flight Spitfire Mk XVI engine runs for the first time in 17 years

When Fantasy of Flight was created, its Spitfire Mk XVI was airworthy but was rapidly grounded due to technical problems. After having been statically exposed for years, its engine was restarted on January 16, for the first time in 17 years.

After some repairs and adjustments, Kermit Weeks hopes to have it flying in the near future.

  1. I tend, not to believe much of what Mr. Weeks says. Since he allegedly moved from his Orlando environs in favor of Ellington (Wings Over Houston Home Field) we’ve heard little to nothing about the man nor his current endeavors. Kinda like the dare devil about to tight rope across Niagara Gorge, Asked if anyone wanted to join him got no takers! I just hope he doesn’t auger in a perfectly good Spit!
