Germany: Spitfire TR.9 MJ772 makes a belly-landing

The Spitfire TR.9 MJ772 which was restored by Meier Motors and recently flew again was damaged in a wheels-up landing on May 3 in Bremgarten.

The pilot, who noticed that one of the landin gears was not extending, elected to fly until the fuel tanks were empty and then landed the aircraft on its belly, apparently with moderate damage.
