Yanks Air Museum EC-121 takes back to the skies

After a lengthy seven-year restoration, the Yanks Air Museum’s EC-121 Super Constellation flew on the 14th of January. This aircraft, the AWACS version of the infamous Super Constellation airliner, was flown from Camarillo to Chino, California, where it will rejoin the museum’s collections.

Vigna di Valle museum exposes restaured Ro.43

A-26 Invader to be restored in France

A Douglas A-26 Invader recently arrived in Avignon and should be restored. It is A-26B-45-DL s/n 44-34172, built by Douglas in Long Beach, California. Sold as surplus in 1958, the airframe was owned by several different companies and individuals.

Restored DC-2 rolls out in Finland

Record-breaking Lynx restored to initial configuration

G-LYNX, a specially-modified Lynx helicopter which beat the world speed record in 1986 by reaching 400.87 km/h (249.09 mph), was restored to its initial configuration. First flight of CFM’s P-51D Mustang “The Brat III”

The Cavanaugh Flight Museum’s P-51D first flew on Wednesday, June 22 after a 4 year restoration. The Mustang now carries its historical wartime colours as “The Brat III”, which was flown by Lt. Conservation work on B-17 “Mary Alice” begins at IWM

The B-17 “Mary Alice” of the Imperial War Museum Duxford has been disassembled in order to transfer it to another building where it will undergo a 16-month conservation and restoration period. Source (with pictures of the transfer)
