“Miss Velma” and “Berlin Express” damaged in separate incidents at Flying Legends

First post-restoration flight for Seafire Mk II PP972

Supermarine Spitfire Mk III PP972 made its first post-restoration flight on Monday, June 15 with Richard Grace at the controls. The aircraft will be presented to the public at the Flying Legends airshow. Only four Supermarine Seafire are currently airworthy, with several restoration projects underway. Mid-air collision at Duxford

I just received word from Gaël, a friend and fellow member of the CAF French Wing that the French Skyraider (F-AZDP) collided with P-51 “Big Beautiful Doll” at the Duxford Flying Legends airshow.  Rob Davies, BBD’s pilot, bailed out while the Skyraider was able to land, minus several feet of right wingtip.
